Verivox comparison tool, clear roles

The comparison tool on this page is provided by Verivox, an insurance broker under § 34d of the German Trade Regulation Act (GewO). Schutz-Guenstiger only embeds the tool. We do not give advice, do not broker contracts and play no part in concluding a contract. Verivox decides which tariffs are shown and in what order. Not all insurers on the market are included in the comparison.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compare family policies for personal liability insurance?

Check which people are expressly insured and when cover ends, for example when training finishes, a child moves out or a partnership changes. Also compare the sum insured and the benefits for the risks in your household; the name of the policy alone is not enough.

Why should I check damage to rented property when comparing liability policies?

If you rent your home, check which damage to rented rooms is covered. Look out for exclusions, compensation limits and how lost keys are handled. Damage to your own belongings is not automatically part of liability cover.

What should I look for when comparing personal liability insurance?

First compare the sum insured, insured persons and add-ons such as damage to rented property, lost keys and cover for unpaid claims (Forderungsausfalldeckung). The premium only tells you something once the benefit profiles are similar. A very cheap policy with low sub-limits can turn out expensive when you make a claim.

When can I switch personal liability insurance?

The contract usually runs for one year and renews automatically unless you cancel in time; the notice period is usually one month before the end of the term, depending on the contract up to three months (§ 11 VVG). After a premium increase or a claim, there is often a special right to cancel. Only cancel once your new cover is confirmed, so that there is no gap.
